Mid Term Project - In Progress Critique

Dynamic Imaging Mid Term In Progress from Christi Lemke on Vimeo.

This project has been extremely time consuming and strenuous. At this point, I am pretty positive it will not be completed as originally planned out according to the storyboard. There are just not enough hours in the day; however, we'll make it work. Im having trouble remembering all the masking techniques we learned a couple weeks ago, but thats nothing google cant fix. Overall, I still love the concept of the piece and the aesthetic, its just the technical command that needs major attention now. The project is actually not very big/long already, but all the parts are what are taking so long. Having multiple characters that have to be rigged and moving is difficult to achieve in 7 days period of time with other classes as well. Work work work and we'll see how much gets finished on by Thursday.

  1. Hey Christi,

Just a quick comment... in the spirit of midterms.

Jill has let us have the weekend to finish this, so I really hope you can get it done (it looks really cool so far, so I'm looking forward to it). I have a suggestion though that might make your life slightly easier if you want to take it.
Since these are animal crackers, it might be completely ok to just peg the whole body and move them much like a child might move a toy dinosaur, with rocking and forward motion. On the other hand, if you absolutely are glued to the idea of multiple limbs, you might be able to just copy and past the key frames from one animal to the next and just make minor changes if desired.

I'm really excited to see how this turns out. Hang in there!
